Belarus further relaxes the entry and stay conditions for foreign citizens

According to the new regulations, foreign citizens and stateless persons will be exempted from the short-term residence formalities after they entered Belarus from the previous 5 days to 10 days. Foreign citizens with higher skills can obtain a short-term residence permit of two years each time, and ordinary foreign citizens can get a short-term residence permit of one year; foreign citizens with higher skills and ordinary foreign citizens have temporarily stayed in Belarus for three years and After 5 years, long-term residence status can be obtained, while the previous residence time limit was 7 years.

The new regulations also expand the list of reasons for foreign students to obtain temporary residence permits.

According to the Belarus Ministry of Internal Affairs, the new regulations are intended to increase the country’s tourism and investment attractiveness, and will also help Belgian universities attract more foreign students and expand the export of education services.
