At least 19 dead and 6 injured in explosion in northern Iranian capital Tehran
On the evening of the 30th local time, an explosion occurred in the northern area of Tehran, the capital of Iran. The accident killed at least 19 people and injured 6 others. It is understood that the explosion site was located in a clinic in the bustling business district of Taguiresh in northern Tehran. The explosion caused a fire and caused slight damage to the building where the clinic was located. Some of the glass was shattered. After the explosion, Tehran Mayor Hanazi and Deputy Iranian Minister of Health Khaliq arrived at the scene of the accident to guide rescue work. At present, the injured have been sent to nearby hospitals for treatment. Initial investigations revealed that the cause of the accident was natural gas leakage and circuit failure.
According to Iran’s official news agency, Yitong News Agency, as of press time, 19 people were killed and 20 people were successfully rescued, including at least 6 wounded.
